This month, we are pleased to feature this amazing artist. Born into an East Asian Pakistani family, Jari is the youngest of his siblings. He fondly attributes his artistic talent as being inherited from his father, who pursued art in his teenage years. “Despite the ups and downs of life, my family has always supported my passion for art,” Jari's own path to becoming an artist came at a surprise for him.
As a child in his fourth standard , he was surrounded by classmates who were hardcore Pokémon enthusiasts. Although not as devoted as they were, he found himself drawn to the characters. He really wanted one for his collection, but at the time he was not yet an artist. He decided to ask an artist friend to sketch one for him, but his request was denied. “This refusal provoked my ego,” Jari recalls. Determined, he took a page and attempted to draw the Pokémon himself. When he finished, to his surprise, he did it well and his classmates were impressed. That moment sparked something within him—the realization that he could create, and others appreciated his work.
A Deeper Meaning
Jari's work isn’t just about aesthetics; it dives into profound themes that often go unnoticed. “I do like to express themes and ideologies through my art which don’t get much attention, such as female manipulation,” he explains. “My artworks are mostly related to the theme of longing , separation and the unappreciated devotion .” He strives to offer new perspectives, believing in the power of art to reshape how people see the world. “Who says demons can’t be cute? A person with anger issues also has a soft corner in his heart; he just needs some attention and love.”
Like many of Jari’s works, The Burning Devotion holds a deep meaning to him. “I feel like if a person is too humble in nature, their devotion burns their wings (self-esteem),” he says. His painting explores how a kind-hearted individual might keep giving to a toxic person, even to the point of self-destruction. The meaning behind this piece is displayed beautifully through the skill Jari has acquired in order to express himself the way he wants to.
Words of Wisdom for Aspiring Artists
Jari believes that art isn’t about perfection—it's about perspective. “Art is your perspective of the world. How you see it and how you want to show it makes it unique and worth investing in,” he advises. His message to young artists is clear: consistency and dedication shape true artistic growth. “No one is a pro from day one, so hours of dedication produce what we call a ‘piece of art.’”
